Episode #2: Simple urban holiday treat

 

Some quiet time spent under the shade of a balcony or shared with friends… Here are some refreshing, homemade drink recommendations:

 

A green tea and mint infusion with lemon zest and ginger

Steep 2 teaspoons of green tea with mint in a litre of cold water* (there are beautiful jugs that can be used for this) along with a teaspoon of lemon zest and a slice of crystallised ginger.

The next day, strain it and add ice cubes before serving, if necessary.

This maceration can be kept for up to 24 hours.

*pour the amount of plants into cold water and leave to macerate overnight in the fridge

 

A green tea and aniseed mint infusion with lemon zest 

You can simply substitute the ginger for one or two star anises depending on your desired taste intensity.

 

Hibiscus infusion 

Steep 2 tablespoons of hibiscus in a litre of cold water (there are beautiful jugs that can be used for this). The water begins to gradually turn a gorgeous red colour.

The next day, strain it and add ice cubes before serving, if necessary. Its naturally tangy taste enhances the fresh sensation. To heighten the taste, just increase the amount of plant in the infusion.

This maceration, with its beautiful reddish colour, can be kept for up to 24 hours.

Two refreshing drinks, yet they are also very rich in anti-oxidants.

 

Tip: Do you fancy a drink that is quick to prepare?

You’ve planned a visit to the city during the day. Just before you leave, add two or three star anises or a few fresh, peppery mint leaves to a bottle of cold water (1 to 1.5L), shake from time to time during your walk, and a mild aniseed or minty taste will gradually develop.
